Men's Swim Trunk Length: 5-Inch vs. 7-Inch Inseams
Shorter trunks look cleaner and move easier; longer trunks add coverage. Here is how to choose the length that actually fits the way you wear them.
Inseam changes the entire personality of a swim trunk. Two pairs can use nearly identical fabric and still look completely different because one stops higher on the thigh.
Around five inches: cleaner, sportier, easier to move in
A shorter inseam exposes more leg and usually feels less restrictive for swimming, beach volleyball, training, and walking. It also reads more like a modern casual short once you leave the water.
Around seven inches: more traditional coverage
A longer inseam is useful if you simply prefer more coverage or a more conservative silhouette. The tradeoff is extra fabric around the thigh when wet or active.
