Newport Beach Parking Guide: Piers, Lots & Beach Access

Newport Beach parking is manageable when you choose the beach first. The city operates pier lots, smaller oceanfront lots and metered street spaces, while Crystal Cove is a California State Park with its own hours and fees. This guide points to the official source for every changeable detail so you can verify rates before leaving.

For Newport Pier, start with the West Ocean Front lot at 2100 W. Oceanfront. For Balboa Pier, use the large lot by Palm Street and Balboa Boulevard. For Corona del Mar State Beach, use the main beach lot near Jasmine Street and Ocean Boulevard. For Crystal Cove, choose the state-park entrance closest to the cove or trail you plan to visit.

The City of Newport Beach parking page links to its interactive map and current parking options. Most paid areas are enforced daily, but hours vary by location and posted signs control. The city currently supports pay stations plus mobile payment through ParkMobile, PayByPhone, HotSpot and Park Smarter.

The city lists the West Ocean Front lot at 2100 W. Oceanfront for the Newport Pier area. Smaller city lots also serve the peninsula, including spaces near 26th Street, 58th Street and 61st Street. The Balboa Pier lot sits at Palm Street and Balboa Boulevard and is the simplest starting point for the pier, beach and nearby Fun Zone. The city lists this lot as open around the clock, with paid parking enforced 24 hours a day. It is first come, first served; posted restrictions and seasonal or holiday pricing can change the final cost.

The main beach lot is near Jasmine Street and Ocean Boulevard. The city lists daily operating hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and notes that the lot is first come, first served. Because summer, weekend and holiday pricing differs, use the official rate table instead of relying on an old screenshot or blog post.

Crystal Cove is managed by California State Parks, not the city. The official Crystal Cove page publishes current day-use hours, parking fees, restrictions and accepted passes. State Parks currently lists day use from 6 a.m. to sunset, while the Historic District remains open later; confirm the page on the day of your visit.

City ocean and bay beaches are generally open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., but Crystal Cove beaches close at sunset. Newport Beach does not allow glass containers, and beach parking is first come, first served. Dog access is time-restricted and requires a leash.
